Gender Unit
University of Kerbala has established Gender Unit in 2015. The unit was affiliated to Faculty of Law. The unit has been restructured and activated in 2021 to be affiliated to presidency of University of Kerbala, and nominating a head for the unit, as part of a strategic programme with Dutch side and Dutch organization, Nuffic.
Gender Unit works on mainstreaming the concept of gender within the university in all aspects. This can be done by holding courses and workshops that help to promote gender equality. Gender Unit also aims at improving the balance between males and females in matters related to equal opportunities in employment, assignment, study, missions, fellowships, etc.

Mission:
The unit involves promoting gender equality (males and females) in terms of education, employment, promotion, participation in decision-making process and drawing up future policies at the university’s institutional level. It attempts to cultivate people of gender issues in general and academics, in particular so as to be aware of equal opportunities.
