University of Kerbala has held its international workshop which is entitled “Partnerships and Gender Equality”, with the participation of Iraqi universities, Wageningen University & Research and ICRA Organization/ Netherlands
President of University, Prof. Basim Al-Saedi, says that this workshop is the outcome of the project that have been agreed on in partnership with Dutch side last year and with the participation of six Iraqi universities including(Salah al-Din University, Mosul University, Anbar University, Kufa University, University of Kerbala and Basra University).
Al-Saedi adds that this workshop is important in studying the common aspects of work between males and females, stheterssing on the results and recommendations to advance the service of Iraqi society in achieving equality in employment opportunities, service and management between males and females , and improving policies and organizational strategies to improve partnerships, administrative capabilities, gender diversity and equality so as to support for scientific projects of both women and men.
On his part, Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdulhadi Al-Asadi, states that the workshop aims at openness to local governments, civil society institutions and labor market in implementing scientific programmes and benefiting from international experiences in managing partnerships in order to achieve the desired goal.
