1 – Forming joint committees between Advisory Committee and  Psychological Counseling and Educational Supervision Division that serve  work of the Gender  Unit.

2 – Recommending  establishment of a course for human rights professors, where the course urges and focuses on  vocabulary and importance of gender equality.

3 – Recommending  establishment of a special complaints box   distributed in all colleges, and this box is opened and complaints are reviewed by members of the unit exclusively.

4 – it has been    agreed on holding a course at the beginning of the new academic year in cooperation with  Educational Guidance Division, where the course indicates and focuses on the importance of the unit and work.

 5 – Recommending  dissemination of the unit’s activities by placing posters in all the university’s halls and colleges, which is considered one of the most important steps of the unit.

– Holding various courses, workshops and seminars in  field of work of the unit related to respecting human rights   focusing on equal opportunities between males and female, prohibiting all forms of discrimination and combating violence against women.

– Holding an annual conference or forum to raise awareness of the importance of gender equality in  political, social and cultural fields, in cooperation with organazational and nonorganationan institutions .

 – Publishing posters in all university corridors and colleges to introduce the unit and its activities, as well as making posters that emphasize the right to equal opportunities, social justice, and awareness of negative phenomena such as harassment, electronic blackmail, and other phenomena.

– Recommending  introduction of gender unit vocabulary into human rights curricula in university colleges.

– Recommending conducting a specialized study on  phenomenon of harassment by professors specialized in  field of law, education, and sociology, in cooperation with    Strategic Studies Centre /  University of Kerbala.

– Holding periodic meetings with representatives of  Academics Syndicate and representatives of students to discuss topics related to  unit’s areas  in order to develop ideas and address  problems.

A number of suggestions have been proposed. Dr. Carin Vijfhuizenn and Dr. Margreet vander Burg point out their remarks on final report of University of Kerbala. They provide Dr. Ahmed Abd Al-Hadi and Asst. Prof. Zainab Hussein with their valuable comments to finalise the report

They also present their congratulation for the progress of the University related to GLP (Gender Equality Plan) stating that members of gender are active.

On his part, Dr. Ahmed Abd Al-Hadi and and Asst. Prof. Zainab Hussein thank the representatives of Wageningen University & Research and ICRA Organization/ Netherlands for their continuous support hoping to have more future cooperation.

On his part, Prof. Dr. Zuhair Mohammed Ali Jeddoa emphasizes that Al-Zahraa University is full ready to support the suggested project of University of Kerbala and be as partners financially and scientifically as well.

    It is presented by Dr. Nawras Ameer Muhi and Asst. Lect. Hussein Ali Norri.  They talk in detail about the most salient projects done by Directorate of Agriculture / Karbala in cooperation with Local Government of Karbala Governorate to green the city and helping male and female farmers to face the obstacles. They also explain the use of harvest residues as food for animals and the use of solar cells

     Asst. Prof.  Dr. Ahmed Abd Al-Hadi, coordinater of the University; with presence of Asst. Prof. Zainab Hussein, Head of  Gender Unit, Prof. Dr. Uras  Hashim, chair of anti-harassment committee and Prof. Dr. Yasmine Khudhaer, chair of  gender advisory committee and other members of the two committees attend the meeting. It lasts for two hours in which a number of suggestions have been proposed.

        Practical cooperation with local administration of Karbala province, Karbala Directorate of Health, Chamber of Commerce,  Karbala Directorate of agriculture, water treatment plants in Karbala, Al- Zahraa University for Women and University of Mousl are included within the list of priorities.

    The attendees  agree on presenting studies on gender, water treatment and agriculture in terms of labour market and career strategy.

He stresses on the importance of cooperation between University of Kerbala and the province so as to reach the required level. The participantes comment on the uniqueness of the province and University of Kerbala as well in relation to different fields.

President of University, Prof. Basim Al-Saedi, says that this workshop is the outcome of the project that have been agreed on in partnership with Dutch side last year and with the participation of six Iraqi universities including(Salah al-Din University, Mosul University, Anbar University, Kufa University, University of Kerbala and Basra University).
Al-Saedi adds that this workshop is important in studying the common aspects of work between males and females, stheterssing on the results and recommendations to advance the service of Iraqi society in achieving equality in employment opportunities, service and management between males and females , and improving policies and organizational strategies to improve partnerships, administrative capabilities, gender diversity and equality so as to support for scientific projects of both women and men.
On his part, Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdulhadi Al-Asadi, states that the workshop aims at openness to local governments, civil society institutions and labor market in implementing scientific programmes and benefiting from international experiences in managing partnerships in order to achieve the desired goal.
